ALGIZ (ᛉ) is a rune from the Elder Futhark runic alphabet. It means protection, defence, a sanctuary in some of it's meanings (it is really hard to trace meanings of runes as people mix runes with magic a lot, but that's the most used meaning of ALGIZ by normal people) and that's why I use this rune. I also really like Norse mythology, the roots of my use of ALGIZ are based on it.
